In an email to faculty and staff on April 21, NVU President Elaine Collins announced the departures of two key administrative staff members: Michael Fox and Toby Stewart.
Fox, who has served as NVU’s dean of enrollment and marketing, is leaving to become the Vice President of Enrollment Management at Husson University in Bangor, Maine.
“As Dean of Enrollment and Marketing, Michael has provided NVU with dynamic and innovative leadership,” wrote Collins in her email. “I am grateful for his many contributions and more specifically, for creating strong recruitment processes that will continue to serve us well. I wish him the very best as he embarks on this new endeavor. Michael’s last day will be Friday, May 21.”
Due to the impending unification with Castleton and VTC, Elaine added, NVU has hired Victoria Dutcher from Dutcher LLC, an independent consulting firm that “works with colleges and universities around the country on strategies for long-term viability,” wrote Collins. Most recently, Dutcher worked as the Vice President for Enrollment Management at the University of New Hampshire.
“With more than thirty years of higher education experience, Victoria brings deep expertise in enrollment strategy and organizational change,” Collins wrote. “She also has extensive experience training and developing enrollment staff.”
Stewart, who assumed the role of Dean of Administration after Sharon Scott’s departure last year, will now transition to the Chancellor’s office as the new VSCS Controller.
“He will, however, continue to support NVU until a transition plan is finalized,” wrote Collins. “As NVU Controller and more recently as Dean of Administration, Toby has steered the university through some challenging times and set the groundwork for NVU to prosper. While we will miss him at NVU, I am excited that he will continue to serve NVU along with our sister VSC institutions in his new role.”
