Husson top men’s lacrosse 23-1

The Northern Vermont University-Johnson men’s lacrosse dropped their first conference game of the season on the road at Husson University on Saturday, March 16.

The Badgers were led by Kyle Picard (Lamoille,Vt.) who scored the first goal of the afternoon. Picard scored off an assist from teammate Travis Benson (Morrisville, Vt.). The Eagles went on a run in the first quarter scoring the first two goals of the game until Picard netted the Badgers first goal of the game. The Badgers continued their attack but were unsuccessful as Husson ended the quarter 6-1.

The Eagles continued to be strong as they scored four goals and took a 10-0 lead headed into the half. The Eagles controlled the beginning of the second half scoring the first goal of the half. The Badgers went on an attack of their own as two shots by Josh Benak (Bethlehem, PA) were wide. Husson ended the quarter leading 17-0 and eventually closed the game out winning 23-1.

With the loss the Badgers fall to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in conference and the Eagles improve to 2-3 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
