Johnson State College Athletics recognizes an outstanding student athlete weekly for unique performances or contributions to their respective team, or to the athletics department.

Andrea Deuell (Milton, Vt./Milton)

CLASS: Senior

MAJOR: Business/Psychology

SPORT: Womens Basketball

POSITION: Guard

THE PERFORMANCE(S): Deuell helped lead Johnson to a 1-1 week by averaging 16.5 points, 6.0 assists, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.0 steals per contest. Deuell had a phenomenal individual outing in the Badgers 62-53 win at Green Mountain College, scoring a career-high 28 points and adding seven assists, seven steals, and five rebounds. Deuell also scored five points, grabbed six rebounds, dished out six assists and collected three steals in a home loss to Castleton during the week.

DEUELL SAYS: “We came out strong against Castleton last week but obviously were not able to hold on. We have to be able to play 40 minutes together. With that said, we feel like we are improving. We really needed the win on Saturday at GMC. We came out ready, had shots falling and defended really well. We have to use that on Thursday (against New England College) and come out, play hard and be ready to play that full 40 minutes.”
