Richardson earns NAC Rookie of the Week

Johnson State College first-year women’s basketball student-athlete Mary Richardson (Brattleboro, Vt./Brattleboro) has been named North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Rookie of the Week.

Richardson helped lead the Badgers to two big wins last week. During their non-conference win over Plymouth State (63-62)

Richardson finished with a team high of 15 points, five boards and four assists towards the win.
She also sunk an impressive 6-7 free-throws during the contest.

During Johnson’s game against NAC foe Lyndon State on Saturday, Richardson chipped in 16 points and a team-high four rebounds to seal the victory 78-72.

Richardson, a Health Science major, is one of eleven underclassmen on the young team looking to build the program under second-year head coach Greg Eckman.

For the season Richardson is averaging 13.6 points per game, 4.4 rebounds per game and is 76.7% from the charity stripe.

The wins last week leave the Badgers  5-15 overall and 2-11 in NAC play.

The Badgers and Richardson will face Thomas College at 7:30 pm on Friday, February 8th in their next outing.
