Meagan Ploof swings a backhand

The Badgers came up short against conference foe Colby-Sawyer on Sat. Sept. 21.

The Badgers were edged 8-1 by the Chargers. Johnson State drops to 1-5 overall while the Chargers improved to 3-4 overall and 1-0 in NEAC East Play. 

The Badgers began the afternoon by being swept in doubles play. Deanna Brandstetter and Annette Kaminsk dropped the first doubles match 8-1 versus the Chargers Ashlyn Ramsay and Elizabeth Lincoln.

The second doubles duo for the Badgers, Meagan Ploof and Kate Murphy failed to earn a point against Chargers Charlotte Horton and Oxana Tkachenko. 

The third doubles team for Johnson Clarisse Talley and Eden Towers were downed 8-1 by Colby-Sawyer members Conley Dion and Ellen Graham.

In singles action Mustangs Lincoln won 6-0, 6-0 over Brandstetter. Ramsay downed Kaminski 6-1, 6-1 while Mustang Horton dispatched Badger Ploof 6-0. 6-1. CSC member Tkachenko similarly downed JSC’s Murphy 6-1, 6-0. Badger Eden Towers inched the Badgers closer to a singles win with a 6-2, 6-2 loss to Mustang Dion. However, the Badger came away with a point in the last singles match of the day as Clarisse Talley defeated Ziyoda Saidova, 6-1, 6-3 respectively.
