Freshman forward Kasey DeGreenia

Freshman Kasey DeGreenia has been named Student Athlete of the Week after an impressive offensive showing in January.
While the Lady Badgers ended the month with two conference defeats, falling to Husson 86-76 and losing to Maine Maritime 51-35, DeGreenia has helped to turn things around in February.

It was for her performance in late January that earned DeGreenia the title of Student Athlete of the Week, averaging 8 points per game, 7 rebounds per game and 3 steals per game.

After being named SAW, DeGreenia has been firing on all cylinders, averaging a double-double so far into February.
When asked about the award, DeGreenia said, “It’s an honor to be recognized as Student Athlete of the Week, I’m proud knowing that others see the hard work I put in on the court.”

So far in February, DeGreenia is averaging 10.6 points per game, and 11 rebounds per game.

In the Lady Badgers’ game against Lyndon State, DeGreenia filled the stat sheet with 11 points and 14 rebounds.

DeGreenia also displayed impressive boardwork pulling down 12 rebounds, in addition to scoring an impressive 19 points from the floor against Pine Manor.

DeGreenia and the Lady Badgers now stand 5-13 overall and 5-7 in the North Atlantic Conference.
“My team and I are working towards securing a home playoff game,” she said, recognizing the goal as a step to help the Lady Badgers secure the NAC title.

The team will host two conference opponents, Thomas on Friday, Feb. 7th and Maine Farmington on Saturday, Feb. 8th, with both games starting at 5:30pm.
