The Johnson State men’s and women’s cross country team traveled to Plymouth, Mass. for the teams’ second annual running of the Run to the Rock race. Both men’s and women’s runners competed in the 5k and 10k races.

Johnson showed up big, as Brendan Walsh blazed to 2nd overall in the 10k race with a finishing time of 37:47. Walsh’s 6:06 minute splits put him ahead of 463 other participants. Steven Lamonde came in right behind Walsh finishing 3rd overall with a time of 38:21.

In the 5k, Zach Levy finished 3rd overall with a time of 18:29, putting him ahead of 542 other runners. Freshman Brynn Cairns took 1st in the 16-19 age division, and 39th overall, crossing the finish line in 23:22. Briana Walsh, hot on Cairns heels, came in 60th overall and second in the 16-19 age group with a finishing time of 24:27.

The Badgers used this race as a tune-up before they travel to the Franklin Pierce Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 13th.
