Pilgrims earn 25-4 win over Badgers

The Johnson State men’s lacrosse team fell to New England College 25-4 on Tuesday afternoon at Minaert Field. With the win, the Pilgrims advance to 7-6 overall and 4-0 in the North Atlantic Conference. Johnson slides to 0-6 overall and 0-4 in the conference.

Sean Largay led the visitors in scoring, finishing the game with 12 goals and one assist for the day for New England. Mason Phillips, Isiah Lereau, Zach Shuttle and Jefferson Lawler each netted a goal in the Badgers’ losing effort.

Johnson scored the game’s first goal, which was quickly answered by the visitors. After evening the score, the Pilgrims never trailed in the remainder of the first half. New England College’s offensive assault continued in the second half, but was slower than the first, as the Pilgrims only scored 10 goals in the last two quarters.

NEC finished with a 43-22 advantage in shots and won 22 of 25 face-offs. The Badgers held the edge in ground balls, scooping 40 to NEC’s 37 ground balls.

Johnson returns to action at home against Me.-Farmington on Saturday, April 16th at 3:30 p.m. New England College will next play on Wednesday the 13th when it hosts Regis College at 4:00pm
