The Johnson State College women’s soccer team picked up a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) win against in-state opponent Lyndon State College 6-0 on Saturday afternoon. With the win, Johnson improves to (2-12-0, 2-7-0) and Lyndon State falls to (2-11-1, 0-8-1).

 

 

SCORING
First Half: Johnson State scored in the 10th minute by Hillary Ross (Highgate, Vt.) with an assist by Shannon Rooney (Waterville, Vt.). The Badgers would then score three more goals in the half, two of which were scored by Kylie Aither (Hyde Park, Vt.) and one scored by Maddison Prescott (Topsham, Maine). Aleia Augsberger (Craftsbury Common, Vt.) and Andrea Mercer (Naugatuck, Conn.) both picked up an assist in the half.

 
Second Half: Aither started out the second half for the Badgers, scoring just 28 seconds into the second half. Katherine Fish (Lake Elmore, Vt.) would add one more goal, which was assisted by Augsberger, to make the final score 6-0 in the Badgers’ favor.

 

 

GOALKEEPERS
Danielle Schreiner (St. Albans, Vt.) earned her first win, shutting out Lyndon State with five saves. Lyndon State’s Johanna Sargent picked up the loss, letting in six of the Badgers’ 17 shots on goal.
